Flashcards

Flashcards have been a great learning tool for many years, and continue to work well today. They are an efficient approach for learning and can easily be incorporated into a practice session. There are also many  ways to individualize the use of flashcards. You could start by working with them in order, or just sort out and focus on the tricky ones, or practice them rapid fire style.

Below you'll find two sets of flashcards put together by Jacqueline Pollauf for learning key signatures. Keys (such as the Key of D Major or the Key of B-flat Minor) are really important when it comes to playing all sorts of different music on the harp. They are also a crucial part of music theory, but because of the unique way that the lever and pedal harp form sharps and flats, learning keys on the harp is a bit different than learning them on other instruments.

These sets of flashcards are intended for harp students and include harp specific information. One set is for lever harpists and one set is for pedal harpists. Both contain all of the keys and are published by Oakway Studios, available as a PDF download. Click on either cover below to learn more and see samples.
